PK.B.1 - Locate and use important areas of the LMC

PK.LA.8.f - The child enjoys visiting the library

PK.SS.2.a - The child identifies common events and routines (e.g., snack time, storytime)

*Use a library orientation Power Point presentation to introduce important areas in the LMC.

*Make a large book using digital photos or boardmaker pictures to introduce important areas in the LMC.

*Take a walk around the library and locate important areas. "I went walking, what do I see?" Student answers, "I see a brown browsing box or circulation desk looking at me."

PK.B.2 - Demonstrate appropriate behaviors for locating, checking out, returning and caring for library materials according to district procedures

*Show the book bags and discuss their purpose. Send home the Li-Beary Bear book care pamphlet in the bags for parents to read with students.

*Read and discuss I Took My Frog to the Library by Eric Kimmel.

*Sort books into "Happy Books" or "Sad Books" and tell why.
